Refugee Resettlement Worker

This is an exciting opportunity for a Resettlement Worker to join a unique service which supports refugees resettled in Somerset.

The Resettlement Team supports individuals and families for between 3-5 years, who have been displaced and who are part of one of the Government's recognised schemes. This includes the Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme (VPRS), the United Kingdom Resettlement Scheme (UKRS), the Afghanistan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP), or the Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme (ACRS).

The schemes are delivered in partnership with the Home Office, Strategic Migration Partnership, and, in some cases, the United Nations Higher Commission for Refugees. The service first began in Somerset in 2016 and works to empower, advocate for, and educate refugees in our care as they learn to build new lives in the UK.

Somerset County Council are looking for a Resettlement Worker who can work in a changing environment with flexibility, creativity, and a positive approach. This is a full-time permanent post.  Occasional evening or weekend work may also be required.
