It draws on a November 2025 briefing in Westminster\, where ten leading UK experts addressed over 1\,200 politicians and influential figures on the implications of climate and nature breakdown for health\, food systems\, national security\, and the economy. \nThe documentary combines scientific evidence with reactions from the public and familiar figures\, including Chris Packham\, Jennifer Saunders\, Deborah Meaden\, and a former general\, to make the information accessible and relatable. \n  \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:We look forward to welcoming to welcoming ecumenical colleagues as well as licensed clergy\, clergy with permission to officiate\, Readers\, Lay Deans and Spiritual Directors from across our diocese to our pre-Advent Retreat Day at our Cathedral in Wells on Monday\, 23 November. We are delighted that the Rt Revd Dr Guli Francis-Dehqani\, Bishop of Chelmsford\, will be joining us to lead the day. \nBishop Guli will draw on content from her 2025 book\, Listening to the Music of the Soul\, to explore the themes of Advent through the lens of her own experience as an Iranian refugee to this country over forty years ago. Bishop Guli will offer her reflections\, interspersed with Scripture\, music and silence to encourage us to go deeper into Advent\, and to share with us her perspective and wisdom on peace making and peace building in this troubled age. \nThe broad outline of the day will be: \n\nFrom 09:30 – arrivals and refreshments in the Cathedral\n10:15 – Worship\n10:30 – first session\n11:15 – refreshments served\n11:45 – second session\n12:30 to 14:00 – a hot lunch will be served at the Bishop’s Palace.\n14:30 – third session\n\nThere will be time for reflection between sessions. \nYou are most welcome to remain in Wells for Evensong at the Cathedral at 17.15. \nAll Bath and Wells licensed clergy\, clergy with permission to officiate\, Readers\, Lay Deans and Spiritual Director should have received an invitation to attend the Pre-Advent Retreat Day from Bishop Michael and Bishop Fiona\, with more information about the day\, together with a a form to share lunch and other requirements.
