A new website for the Church of England

Based on user feedback, and following extensive research and testing, the website has been redesigned for use by local church leaders and churchgoers, those who might be curious about faith, and many others.

The national Church of England website is being transformed. The new site will be launched in the first week of November 2026.

Based on user feedback, and following extensive research and testing, the website has been redesigned for use by local church leaders and churchgoers, those who might be curious about faith, and many others.

Serving local church leaders

The new website will offer a dedicated ‘Resources for parishes’ section meaning all the resources for parishes which are currently held across three websites: ChurchOfEngland.org, ParishResources.org and AChurchNearYou.com/ResourceHub.Much of the content has been rewritten to be clearer, more accessibleand up to date.

Improved organisation of Safeguarding information

The Safeguarding e-manual will be renamed the Safeguarding Gateway, where you will continue to find Codes of Practice, guidance and resources. The National Safeguarding Team will be in touch with diocesan, cathedral and parish safeguarding officers and comms teams to share more about the changes and improvements.

Current links will be redirected

Wherever possible, existing links will be redirected. This means that after ‘go live’, you will be automatically forwarded to the relevant page if you use an existing link or bookmark, with no need for further clicks.

In particular, the national Advent and Christmas resources for churches will remain on the same link continuously: cofe.io/ChristmasResources.

Other key benefits of the site:

Improved navigation and search
Clearer overviews for the public
Improved accessibility
Improved liturgy section
