Last week, Bishop Michael joined the Diocesan Board of Education to thank Tracey Khodabandehloo for her years of service for the schools in the Diocese of Bath and Wells.
Tracey has been the Chair of the DBE for five and a half years, taking on the role during the Covid pandemic. Recognising the huge contribution that she has made, including to Bishop’s Council, Bishop Michael said, “Tracey has overseen our work during a time of tumultuous change in education. We are hugely grateful for all that she has given”.
And Director of Education for Bath and Wells, Ed Gregory said, “’It has been a privilege and delight to work with Tracey. As DBE Chair Tracey skilfully led the Board with prayerful dedication and wisdom, reflecting her expertise and experience in education alongside her passion for our work with children, teens and young adults through church communities.”
Reflecting on her time as Chair, Tracey said, “It has been an honour to serve the diocese as the chair of the Board of Education since 2021. Our diocesan Education Department covers a wide range of important work with schools, parishes and young people and I’ve been privileged to work alongside such a professional and gifted team at Flourish House. I will particularly miss the DBE Board members who volunteer their time and expertise so willingly and, without exception, are committed to the flourishing of children and young people in Bath and Wells.”
Tracey will be succeeded as Chair by Bishop Fiona, the Bishop of Taunton whose nomination to this role was greeted by members of the Board of Education with joy and great support.
