The arrival of the Bride at a recent wedding at Holy Cross, Mark caused a something of stir both locally and in the national and even international press.
Why? Well Victoria Lee, as she is now, arrived astride her favourite Swiss cow, White Chocolate Button!
Revd Eddie Wills, an Associate Priest for the Wedmore Isle and Moors Benefice, said, “I’ve never taken a wedding where the church was completely empty five minutes before it was due to start! Everyone wanted to be outside to see Victoria and White Chocolate Button arrive. I wasn’t concerned about time myself, but I knew that Victoria and Michael had to get back to their farm for afternoon milking.”
While White Chocolate Button browsed the churchyard outside and everyone was settled inside, the wedding ceremony took place. Afterwards, Michael led his new wife and her steed to breakfast in one of the barns. Everyone agreed that this was altogether a joyous occasion which will be remembered by the parish for many years to come.
