SIAMS is the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools. This is also known as a Section 48 inspection. This session is for headteachers, RE leaders, Collective Worship leads, governors and those who lead on the Christian character of a church school or trust. In this session we will explore the new 2023 SIAMS Framework.
We will cover what the new Framework looks like: the Inspection Structure; the importance of Christian vision; the six Inspection Questions; the judgments; self-evaluations; and the keeping of evidence.

Our second update for leaders in church schools and academies. We invite the Headteachers, Senior Leaders and Chairs of Governors of all our Church schools to attend a briefing led by members of our Senior Leadership Team, School Advisers from Bath and Wells Education Department and invited speakers. These briefing events are an opportunity to hear updates from us about what we are working on alongside our local authority colleagues and MATs, and to hear updates about any changes on a national level. There is a different agenda each term, covering a variety of subjects, ranging from the statutory to the inspirational. As well as input and updates from us, at these events there is the opportunity for Heads and Chairs to meet together and share ideas. We welcome and encourage you to give us feedback on your experiences and how we can support you and your Church school.

Are you familiar with the boiling frog analogy? Being a school leader in the current climate is challenging. In a recent survey we did, most head teachers felt they weren’t prioritising their needs and looking after themselves well. Throughout this academic year, we want to support school leaders in rediscover the joy in their vocation and flourish in their roles. Within these days we will provide a safe and supportive environment for school leaders to share and learn from one another. We will be inviting experienced practitioners to speak into this space. Ultimately, we want to resource you, so you might resource others. This event is specifically for head teachers/executive heads/heads of school.
