Shared local ministry

In Bath and Wells we are committed to the flourishing of shared local ministry. This approach sees lay and ordained ministry working in collaboration, with a mixture of church-focused and community-focused roles to make up a team of people working together to build up the body of Christ in the local church and to lead the church in mission.

There is no one approach to shared local ministry, every benefice can determine what shared local ministry looks like for them, identifying an oversight minister (or ministers), named people in particular ministry roles, and the overall shape of ministry offered. In order to achieve our vision of shared local ministry flourishing across Bath and Wells a new lay ministry pathway has been developed.
