Safe recruitment
The safeguarding team provides guidance about how to recruit the right people to the right roles in parishes and in the diocese, and how to check, as far as possible that they pose no known risk. We also process all Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks. All those that are involved in the recruitment of both paid and volunteer roles should have completed safer recruitment training, and as a minimum at least one person on any recruitment panel will have completed the safer recruitment course. This training is available as a face-to-face course and is facilitated by the Safeguarding Trainer. If you require training to be delivered locally in your parish, please email the safeguarding team. All dates, when they are available, will be advertised on the website event calendar. See below for the other supporting documents.
