It has been announced that Archbishop Albert Chama has been elected as the next Bishop of Lusaka Diocese and we offer him our warm congratulations. This follows the sad death of Bishop David Njovu of Lusaka earlier this year. Archbishop Albert will leave his current post as Bishop of the Diocese of Northern Zambia to take on this new role and details of his installation will be announced as soon as they become available.

Following the announcement Bishop Michael and Bishop Ruth sent their congratulations to Archbishop Albert. Bishop Michael said, "In Bath & Wells we are immensely fortunate to be linked with the Anglican Diocese of Zambia. It was a real privilege at this year’s Lambeth Conference to spend time with the Zambian bishops and to get to know them much better. Archbishop Albert will be a brilliant successor to Bishop David, and I only look forward to our link becoming stronger in the years to come."

Please hold the Archbishop and his family in your prayers, as well as the people of Northern Diocese as they take on the task of electing a new bishop.
