Oak doors, which feature cricket bats as handles, have been installed at St George’s Church in Bicknoller in memory of Harold Gimblett, who played for England in the 1930's.
After storm damage left St George’s Church, Wembdon facing a major roof repair bill, the PCC quickly began exploring ways to raise the money needed.
The clock at St Edward’s Church, Goathurst, has been a central feature of village life since it was presented to the church in 1734. Its restoration and return were celebrated with a special gathering at the church.
During the coming months, the Venerable Jonathan LLoyd will be the Acting Archdeacon of Wells, following the departure of Archdeacon Anne in May.
