A series of art installations created almost entirely with resources that would have otherwise gone to landï¬ll is to be displayed in the churchyard of St John’s church Glastonbury during Holy Week.
“I thought I would make something visual that might make people think differently about Holy Week,” said Revd Diana Greenfield who designed and made the images.
“Although Easter 2021 still ï¬nds us with restrictions on who we can meet, where we can go and how we can worship, it is still possible for the stories of our world to resonate with the stories of the ï¬nal few hours of Jesus Christ. Despite the pain and suffering associated with the end of Jesus’ life it is not the end of the story, and we have much to be hopeful about.”
Revd Diana used materials from the YEAST Scrapstore in Glastonbury to create the images.
“The images are on rainbow backgrounds which remind us of the popularity of rainbows during the last twelve months and their connection with the NHS. The rainbow is also a symbol of hope and God’s promises for us.
