Bishop Michael will be making his first visit to Zambia as Bishop of Bath and Wells next month.
Commenting on his trip, which takes place from 22 April to 5 May 2024, and will see him visit various parts of the country including Lusaka, Ndola and Mansa, Bishop Michael said “I am really looking forward to going back to Zambia. It takes the whole world to know Christ and I’m so excited at the thought of all I will learn from our Zambian brothers and sisters. I am also looking forward to the opportunity to explore how we can potentially work together on a joint environmental project involving our schools.”
Zambia is a country Bishop Michael knows very well having lived there during his career as an epidemiologist, then he was responsible for running a significant clinical trial concerned with child health in partnership with Yale University.
During Bishop Michael’s absence and Bishop Ruth’s secondment to the Diocese of Coventry, Bishop Trevor Willmott will be able to act on behalf of Bishop Michael.
