Celebration of Lay Ministries for everyone!

Celebration of Lay Ministries… for everyone! Saturday 2 July from 1pm -Wells Cathedral

God calls us all and everyone is needed and this special Celebration is a recognition, affirmation, encouragement and thanks, for all that people generously give.

Each year we love to celebrate all the gifts and talents which people share in their communities and churches. We are all, in our own ways, living and telling the story of Jesus by who we are and what we do. The celebration is not just for those who have finished a training course, but for everyone.

At the event there will be:

  • A Service of worship and Celebration of ministries
  • A Marketplace of stalls displaying the different ministries, courses, events and opportunities that are available
  • A chance for conversations, to hear people’s stories, to see old friends and to make new ones!

Jill Perrett, Developing Ministries adviser says, "I love this annual event as it’s a wonderful to celebrate and give thanks for all people in our diocese. It’s an opportunity to be thankful that people offer their gifts, talents and contributions to church and community and the difference this makes to people’s lives. There are such a variety of different ministries and every one is important. It’s a time to be valued and affirmed and thanked. I always discover something through this event. It may be learning about a ministry I have never heard of before, or through someone sharing their story, or something in the Service, but there is always ‘something’. God is amazing; people are amazing and its such a joy to be part of this!"

Come and discover the different varieties of ministries and opportunities that are available, hear about people’s stories and meander among the stalls, join in the Service of worship where we give thanks and praise to God for everyone. Come and be affirmed, inspired and encouraged. Come as a group, bring family and friends, or come on your own… everyone is welcome.
