Bishop Ruth confirmed (l-r) Carys, Anna, Jacob and Sophie in St Andrew’s, Cheddar, on the evening of Thursday 3rd December 2020. Also confirmed were two adult candidates from Brean and Berrow, June and Helen.
Revd Stuart Burn, Rector of St Andrews said: “The choir sang Shine, Jesus, Shine and Here I am, Lord – is it I, Lord. Bishop Ruth spoke of being ready to share your light (the parable of the ten young women – note the children holding their burning candles!). Communion was received by all, and by the children for their first time. After a very difficult year, the church-family experienced this as an incredibly encouraging and positive statement of church overcoming Covid. God’s Spirit moved and blessed. It was wonderful.”
