The annual Chrism Service takes place at Wells Cathedral Tuesday 26 March. People from across the diocese, lay and ordained, are invited to join the Holy Week service. Bishop Michael will be presiding and preaching at the service at which the Blessing of Oils, the Renewal of Ordination Vows, and the Commitment to Ministry takes place.
Bishop Michael says, “It will be good to come together as Easter people and give thanks for the life, death and resurrection of Jesus; to engage afresh with the message of Good News and hope that lies at the heart of our faith, and to pledge ourselves to our shared task of mission and evangelism.
“Please do encourage as many others from your context as possible to come to this service, so that together as God’s people, we can recommit ourselves to the ministry we share, in its wonderful variety. There will be an opportunity to be anointed for your continuing ministry as part of the service if you so wish.
The service, which takes place on the Tuesday of Holy Week at 10am, will be followed by tea, coffee and Hot Cross Buns. If you would like to attend please book your ticket online.
