Church Tent at Bath and West Show a sunny success

8th June 2023

The annual Royal Bath and West Show was back during the half-term break and once again an ecumenical team hosted the church tent. Positioned on the main lawn, the iconic cross pointed people to the tent, inviting them to add their prayers and reflections.

Once inside, people were welcomed with free refreshments and an opportunity to sit quietly amongst the busyness of the show. Members of the team were available to talk and pray if required, and there were lots of activities for children to enjoy.

The inside of the tent had been decorated by the Yeast Scrapstore from Glastonbury who created an amazing display on the theme of The Servant King. A series of questions; ‘what are you worried about?’, ‘Who has been your greatest influence?’ What are you thankful for?’ and ‘How do you serve?’, prompted people passing by to add their thoughts, comments and prayers to a board outside the tent.

The sun brought many people to the three-day show and the tent had a steady flow of people popping in. Lots of familiar faces returned to take part in the activities or just dropped in to say ‘hello’ and it was great to see many new people joining in too.
