Join the Celebration of Lay Ministries

Celebration of Lay Ministries Saturday 15 July from 1pm – St. James’ Church, Taunton

Each year we love to celebrate, recognise and thank all those who have generously given their time, gifts and talents in their communities and churches.

This year the theme is ‘Journey’.

God calls us all to a journey; to journey with Him and with others. At the Celebration of Lay Ministries this year we are thinking about journey. Together we’ll think about the journey are each of us is on and consider what is God’s invitation to us? Is it to begin something new? If so, what is it? Is it to become involved in an aspect of church life or to serve our community in some way? We’ll reflect on how our journey going. Are you being resourced and refreshed in your journey?

At the event there will be:

  • A Celebration Service
  • A Marketplace of stalls
  • A chance to hear from different people about their particular faith and life journey
  • An opportunity to think about your own journey
  • A time to meet old friends and to make new ones!

The dwelling in the word passage for this year speaks about the gifts which people offer. In Romans 12: 6 it says ‘We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us’.

Jill Perrett, Developing Ministries adviser, says, "The Celebration is an opportunity for both lay and ordained to come together to be valued, affirmed and thanked, for we all have a unique contribution to make.

"We’ll hear people’s stories of their journey and hope. Through meeting others we can share ideas, be inspired and encouraged on our journey."

Join this year's celebration and discover more about your journey. Come and see some of the diversity of gifts there are and discover the different ministries and opportunities available.

Browse the stalls, have conversations of encouragement and worship God together through our Celebration Service.
