Following the installation of Bishop Michael the diocese will again have 2 bishops – although Bishop Ruth will be taking a much-deserved sabbatical after the installation.

3 people will anoint Bishop Michael during the service: lead chaplain of RUH Bath, Revd Narinder Tegally; retired vicar, Pam Cuff; and newly ordained vicar and school chaplain, George Beverly.

Bishop Michael will be wearing the Coronation Cope at his installation – it has been worn at 4 coronations in the past.

Five young people we were involved in the appointment of Bishop Michael will accompany him as he processes from the Bishop's Palace to the Cathedral prior to the service of welcome and installation at 15:00 on Saturday, 12 November.

A honeycomb has 6 sides. Did you know that Bishop Michael keeps bees? Honey cakes will be offered as part of the refreshments after the service on Saturday. He'll also be visiting the Hive Community Centre at Peasedown St John on his journey back to Wells from Bath on the morning of the installation.

Bishop Michael will use 7 different modes of transport as he travels from Bath to Wells on the morning of the installation, meeting people along the way. Bus, car, electric bike, police car, tractor and lorry – as well as his own two feet. Find out more about the plans for the morning.
