Interim Diocesan Secretary for the diocese

Rosemary Pearce Interim Diocesan Secretary

Rosemary Pearce has joined the diocese as interim Diocesan Secretary. Rosemary’s appointment recognises the considerable demand of the additional responsibilities that have been held by colleagues covering the absence of a diocesan secretary/CEO and the importance of a successful transition to, and development of, the reshaped Support Services for the diocese.

A former CEO of the Diocese of Oxford, Rosemary has also provided interim support to the Diocese of Norwich. She will be working for 2.5 days a week, until summer 2022. Rosemary will work both remotely from home and through regular visits to Flourish House.

Bishop Ruth says, “We are delighted that Rosemary is able to join us to offer interim support. Having held the role in other dioceses, she thoroughly understands our work and is perfectly placed to step in and provide valuable oversight, leadership and advice. This will be particularly important as we embed the new structure for the diocese’s Support Services and as we all continue to manage the impact of the pandemic.”

The appointment of a permanent CEO/Diocesan Secretary will be one of the first tasks of the new Bishop of Bath and Wells.
