Lent Cross Challenge 2025 story so far

This Lent the Go Team has invited schools, churches and families to join with them in the Lent Cross Challenge. A simple daily focus in the lead up to Easter aiming to keep the cross at the heart of Lent. The challenge is to spot, find or create a cross each day and take a photo of it. So far, the engagement has been fantastic with churches, schools and individuals joining in. The team have received lots of photos, while others have been sharing their images on social media.

Claire Morrish, Flourish Lead at Combe Down CofE Primary School has been taking part with children in the school’s Prayer Garden. The children have been making crosses in the Sanctuary Shed and Claire is using the photos in their Easter Services this week.

Sam Packer, Chaplain and Flourish Lead at St Mark’s School in Bath has also joined in with the challenge and students from ‘The Wednesday Thing’ have shared some of their creative crosses.

Elsewhere in the diocese, Pyrland School in Taunton have challenged students to get involved and have shared a weekly round-up of the crosses on their social media channels. Holy Trinity Frome and St John’s Bridgwater are among the churches inviting people to post crosses they’ve spotted or created on Facebook and Bishop Ruth has been posting daily on Instagram. We’ve even heard from churches in Birmingham, Norfolk and Texas who are joining in!

Go Team Adviser, Cesca Priestley commented, “The Lent Cross Challenge has been wonderful so far, with people’s creativity inspiring us as we look towards Easter. As we continue to share and celebrate these crosses, we hope that this challenge helps keep Jesus and the cross at the centre of our lives, not just during Lent, but every day.”

If you are following the challenge, keep sending your photos to the Go Team and to join in head to the Go Team social media @goteamadvisers for each day’s challenge and Bible verse.
