National Director of Safeguarding visits Bath and Wells

This week, Alex Kubeyinje, the National Director of Safeguarding for the Church of England visited the Diocese of Bath and Wells to meet the diocesan Safeguarding team and Bishop Michael.

Following the meeting, Ben Goodhind, Diocesan Safeguarding Manager said, “It was a great opportunity to meet with Alex to share the progress we have been making as a diocese and discuss how the National Safeguarding Team and the diocese can work collaboratively together in the years to come.”

Alex was able to gain invaluable insight from the team about the safeguarding work being undertaken in the diocese. Bishop Michael said, "It was good to showcase to Alex the excellent work in safeguarding that’s happening here in Bath and Wells. We valued the chance to discuss with Alex the ways in which the national team can support the work that’s happening in local parishes across Somerset enabled by our diocesan safeguarding team and by our parish safeguarding officers, clergy, lay ministers and PCC members.”
