More than 30 parish administrators took part in a training and support day in Wells. The group, who came from all parts of the diocese, spent the day getting to know one another, sharing tips and ideas, and learning about the support available to them from the support services teams at Flourish House.
Many administrators work independently so welcomed the chance to connect with others who do the same, or a similar job, in a different part of the diocese. It was also a wonderful opportunity to get to know people in their archdeaconry and to talk about ways to keep in touch via WhatsApp. There are also plans to share learnings via a soon-to-be-created, Administrators' Facebook page.
During the day the group met Diocesan Secretary, Jenny Hollingsworth, Head of Deanery and Parish Support / Acting Head of Mission Support and Ministry Development, Julia Hill and heard from the national digital team about the facilities available via a ChurchNearYou website. Members of the Giving and Funding, Environment and Secretariat teams also dropped in to meet everyone and talk about the support they offer and the ways to get in touch with team members.
There are plans to hold another Administrators' Day in the future, if you’d like to be a part of it, do get in touch. Email comms@bathwells.anglican.org
