Thy Kingdom Come the global, ecumenical prayer movement for evangelisation, invites Christians around the world to pray from Ascension to Pentecost for more people to come to know Jesus. This year it takes place from 9-19 May. Every person, household and church are encouraged to pray during the 11 days in their own way.
There are lots of resources for church communities to use and events for people to engage with.
This year there is a pocket-sized Prayer Journal, featuring artwork from Revd Chris Duffett (also available as prayer station images). It explores different ways to pray from Ignatian Spirituality to Praying in Song, Prayer Walking to Contemplative prayer. Each day there will also be an accompanying video.
Young people are invited to take part in The Prayer with thousands of others around the UK and beyond. On Pentecost Sunday between 5 and 6pm there will be an opportunity to come together for a time of prayer and worship, There will be contributions from the Archbishops of Canterbury, and York, The Way UK and Rachel Gardener. It will take place from 5:15pm on Pentecost Sunday. Young people, or groups can join online or join in person at Locking Castle Church, Weston-super-Mare, at 5pm. This year, Thy Kingdom Come includes 11 brand-new discipleship films including one Archbishop Stephen Cottrell and Jackie Pullinger, as well as a selection of CYP resources including 5 new animated episodes of the Jesus Story Book Bible, voiced by influential Christians such as Archbishop Justin Welby, Bear Grylls and Gemma Hunt and youth resources / films from leading youth ministry, The Way UK.
