Week of Prayer for Young People

As we continue to emerge from the pandemic and understand the impact of the last few years on children and young people, families and schools, the Go Team are heading up a Diocese-wide ‘Week of Prayer for Young People’ from 3 – 9 July.

Churches, groups and individuals across Bath and Wells are encouraged to join in prayer for children and young people, their families and their schools, during the week, using a simple
Prayer Guide that provides themes and prayer prompts for each day.

There will also be daily prayer videos posted on our social media channels with young people and youth leaders from across the region giving voice to prayers for young people and the issues they face growing up in the 2020s.

The Go Team will be setting aside time at midday each day to pray together, inviting colleagues from the Diocesan staff to join them, either on Zoom or in person. Schools, colleges and universities in our Diocese will also be encouraged to join the Week of Prayer, especially where there are Chaplains or other local Christian leaders involved.

Tony Cook, Head of Growing Faith and Everyday Faith commented “Before we consider what we might be able to offer young people, post pandemic, let us first pray for this generation; hearing what God might be saying to us.”
