Chaplaincy Gathering 2025

Celebrating Difference and Finding Hope

A Gathering for Christian Chaplains in Somerset

Chaplains from across the region met on Tuesday 14th October at St Mary's Church, Bridgwater, for a day of story-sharing, spiritual reflection, and practical workshops.

Together they explored what it means to bring hope and healing across difference — whether cultural, theological, or personal.

Real-life stories from the frontlines of chaplaincy

  • 8 engaging workshops on inclusion, reconciliation, interfaith work, mental health and more
  • Space for prayer, scripture, and encouragement
  • A delicious lunch and great company

Richard Kelley, Chaplaincy Adviser, who ran the event says, "There was a lot for people to get their teeth into during the day, but also time for people to make connections and be inspired. It was a day led by chaplains, for chaplains, but others who have an interest in chaplaincy also attended and got something from the day."

Key speakers at the gathering, all of whom are chaplains in our diocese, were Ewen Huffman and team (Hinkley Point), Anne Fulton (St Margaret’s Hospice), and Katy Garner (Bath Spa University).
