Schools Roundup Term 1:
It has been a busy and exciting start to the academic year for our 182 church schools and our schools’ team here in Bath and Wells. Here’s a roundup, in numbers, of some of the things that have taken place since September:
3000 children and adults joined us for our first online Collective Worship with Bishop Michael and the Education team. We considered new beginnings and the story of Zaccheaus.
You can register for our next online Collective Worship on 9 December at 9.15 am.
15 new school leaders joined us for our Induction and Commissioning at Flourish House, Wells Cathedral and the Bishops Palace. Bishop Michael presented our new school leaders with a Bible.
54 schools joined us for 3 separate events as we launched our SIAMS cycle training. All our schools have been invited to a specific training event that is relevant to where they are in their SIAMS journey.
7 Aspiring Leaders joined us for our first Aspiring Leaders event in Taunton, where we partnered with Somerset Council to host and lead.
We ran various forums throughout the term. 41 Foundation Governors joined us for their forum and 14 clerks joined for their forum.
12 leaders from all 6 of our Church of England Secondary Schools joined us at Flourish House for our first Church Secondary School Network. A great opportunity to explore the unique opportunities and challenges of leading a church secondary school.
13 CEOs came to the CEO gathering at Flourish House where we focused on working with parents and cradle to career.
4 SIAMS inspections were completed this term. A huge congratulations to Stoke St Gregory Church of England Primary School, Saltford Church of England Primary School, Mells Church of England Primary School and West Coker Church of England Primary School on their recent inspections.
