At the end of September more than 60 churchwardens attended the Churchwardens’ Day at Flourish House. It was an opportunity for discussions, question and answer sessions with representatives of members of Support Services teams, and mutual support from fellow churchwardens across Bath and Wells.
The churchwardens were joined by the Archdeacons of Bath, Wells and Taunton and members of Support Services teams, who shared information about the support and resources available to those serving in parishes throughout Bath and Wells. In the afternoon there was the opportunity to take part in a number of workshops and there was plenty of time for discussion, questions and an opportunity to meet and chat with, others in the same role in different parts of the diocese.
Reflecting on the day one churchwarden said, “Please keep running them. So useful. There is always that situation of 'you don't know what you don't know' until someone explains. So all information is useful. Thanks”
Julia Hill, Head of Mission Support and Ministry Development, said, “It was marvellous to see churchwardens from across the diocese gathering together for support and encouragement. It reminded us again of what a fantastic job is done by people locally and what a privilege it is to support them.”
