Jenny Hollingsworth has today started in her new role as Diocesan Secretary for the Diocese of Bath and Wells.
Jenny joins us from Portsmouth Diocese where she was Acting Diocesan Secretary, previously Deputy Diocesan Secretary, Head of Strategic Resources and Implementation.
Speaking on her arrival in the diocese Jenny said, “I am really looking forward to exploring Bath and Wells - getting to know its people and finding out what it means to be part of this diocese in Exmoor, Minehead, Frome and beyond. Having grown up in Wicklow in Ireland, coming to Bath and Wells feels like coming home. It has the same feeling of strong and proud local communities where we support one another. My maiden name is Polden and so I also have a sense that my ancestors may well have come from this soil.”
“I am also excited to come alongside the diocesan Support Services team. I love working with people who are passionate about what they do and everyone I have met in Bath and Wells so far clearly has a vocation to serve here. My goal is to support and sustain them in what they do as we seek to support our parishes, schools and communities together.”
Prior to working for the Diocese of Portsmouth, Jenny worked for SPIRASI (Spiritan Asylum Services Initiative) in Ireland. She has also been Synod Officer for the General Synod of the Church of Ireland.
