Pupil Chaplains help out at toddler group

Pupil chaplains from St Nicholas Chantry Primary School in Clevedon, joined Emy, the Children and Families Coordinator at Christchurch Clevedon, and her team, for their popular Thursday morning Toddler group, Little Fish.

Little Fish, which meets weekly during term time, brings together between 25-40 families. The pupil chaplains, accompanied by their teacher Miss Gough, immersed themselves in the morning's events at the play group, interacting with the toddlers and their parents.

The chaplains started by welcoming the arriving families, helping toddlers with craft activities, and they assisted with serving snacks and drinks. Their session culminated in a lively song time, where the toddlers enjoyed having older children. Emy said, the smaller children seemed to view the older children as big brothers and sisters, who were there to join in their playtime.

Reflecting on the visit, Miss Gough expressed her gratitude and enthusiasm. "What a fantastic experience for our pupil chaplains. They had such a wonderful time, we want to say a huge thank you for the opportunity. Hopefully, we can arrange another visit to Little Fish again soon."

The successful collaboration between Christchurch Clevedon and St Nicholas Chantry Primary School highlights the positive links between the school, the church and community. It helps to  foster connections across different age groups and create memorable experiences for all involved.
