This year’s Week of Prayer for Children and Young People will focus on different ages and stages and will run from Monday 7th to Friday 11th July.
Churches, schools, small groups and individuals across our diocese are encouraged to join in praying for the children and young people in our communities.
The Prayer Guide put together by the Go Team focuses on a different age group each day, beginning on Monday with under 5s, their families and those who help them grow, through to Friday where the focus is young adults finding their independence.
Each day the simple guide has prayer prompts alongside a written prayer and Bible verses which can be used by individuals and small groups, or to inspire prayers for church services and collective worship. Download a full colour or text only version below.
A short daily video will feature children and young people encouraging us to pray and the themes will be echoed in the Diocesan Prayer Calendar and on social media during the week. The Go Team along with other staff colleagues will be gathering online each lunchtime to pray.
The Go Team’s Andy Levett added, “We are hearing much about the generation growing up amongst us being more open to faith, spirituality and Jesus than the previous one. We also recognise the huge challenges our young people face today in all kinds of ways. Let’s take time this July to pray together for children and young people in the place where we live.”
On Sunday 13 July, at the end of our Week of Prayer, churches are being encouraged to celebrate and thank those who lead our youth and children’s ministry, whether voluntary or paid, as part of a national Church of England initiative called ‘Recognise’. RECOGNISE | The Church of England
