Bishop Michael has written to people across the diocese asking them to share their views on the recruitment of the next Bishop of Taunton.
He says, "We will soon be saying farewell to Bishop Ruth, our wonderful Bishop of Taunton. I hope many of you will be able to say goodbye to her at our Chrism Service, on Tuesday, 15 April at Wells Cathedral.
"We are hoping to have a new Bishop of Taunton in place as soon as possible, and have already taken the necessary steps to put that process into action. Our hopes for our next Bishop of Taunton have been shared with the Dioceses Commission and they have given their formal approval for us to make the appointment.
"As we seek to prepare the job pack for the role in the coming weeks, I wanted to invite you share your feedback on the initial role outline and person specification that was shared with the commission, and any hopes you may have for the next bishop."
