For this year's Christmas message Bishop Michael visited St Peter's Community Centre in Yeovil.
Three Church of England primary schools in rural areas of the diocese have found a creative way to celebrate Christmas. Instead of meeting at a combined service they have chosen to unite by singing and joining their voices on film.

Wells Cathedral Education Room was packed as people gathered for an inspiring evening about Emperor Haile Selassie I in Bath and Wells: His Journey, His Faith.
Clergy and lay leaders from across our diocese have been invited to attend this year’s Pre-Advent Retreat Day at Wells Cathedral on Tuesday, 25 November. Bishop Michael will be holding a prayer vigil for Gaza in the chapel at the Bishop’s Palace at 17:00 on Sunday, 3 August 2025. The vigil will be open for anyone to attend. Those who can’t join Bishop Michael at the chapel are being encouraged to join in and pray where they are, at a time to suit them.
