This week we welcome Jonathan Foyle who takes over as the Bath and Wells Church Buildings Adviser, whilst Emma Brown is on maternity leave.
Jonathan is an historic buildings professional with specialisms in churches and transformative projects. He holds a PhD in Archaeology, an MA in History of Art and a postgraduate diploma in Architecture, as well as an honorary PhD from the University of Lincoln.
Jonathan is the author of six books on English cathedrals and is also an occasional broadcaster. He was previously Chief Executive of World Monuments Fund in Britain where he managed numerous major projects including improvements at Coventry Cathedral, and was Curator of Historic Buildings at Historic Royal Palaces, responsible for the conservation and research of Hampton Court.
Jonathan who has lived in the diocese for six years said, "Churches are beautiful historic buildings representing the beliefs and aspirations of their communities, so their future depends on today's communities as inheritors and custodians. I look forward to supporting the diocese while Emma Brown is on maternity leave."
