Sharing the Christmas story with a generation of children
They promise to pray, learn about and share God's love, in the playground and all around the school.
Tony Blackshaw, who has been Chair of the Diocesan Board of Education for the last three years, is stepping down today (8 June 2021). He will be replaced by Tracey Khodabandehloo, who recently retired from school leadership after 25 years as a head teacher in church schools.
Since 1883, students at the Kings of Wessex Academy in Cheddar have been ascending the church tower at St. Andrew's church on ascension day, to look out over the magnificent views and mark their moving on from the school to pastures new. Unfortunately for the second year in a row, they have been unable to due to Covid. Despite this however the tradition continued this year in virtual form.
Jess James from the Exmoor Youth project explains how they have taken a different approach with Harvest Experience this year to ensure local school children can still enjoy Harvest.
